Attract tourists with the beauty of crystal clear water, towering limestone pillars, and white beach, Halong Bay is always considered a top destination for everyone. Located in Quang Ninh Province, Northern Vietnam, Halong Bay has total area is about 1,553 km2, consists of 1960 - 2000 islets, most of which are limestone. The beauty of Halong was honored by many charismatic organizations or magazines. In 1995, the core zone of Halong Bay was listed by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site. In 2014, the famous American magazine National Geographic ranked Halong as 1 of the 10 most romantic destinations for couples on Valentine’s Day. All have been proved the captivating beauty of Halong Bay. The bay has the tropical climate with two main seasons: hot (moist summer) and cold (dry winter). The average temperature is from 15°C to 25°C. Therefore, the best time to travel Halong is from September to November or from March to May.

Halong Bay in Vietnamese meaning Descending Dragon Bay. The history of Halong Bay goes with the story about a Mother Dragon and her children were sent down by the Jade Emperor to help the Vietnamese fight vendors. After the victory, the dragon did not go back to the sky but stayed to protect everyone. Apparently, the charm of Halong Bay associated with the long, heroic history of the nation.

Places to visit

Titop Island: in the French colony, this island named Cat Nang Island and changed to Titop after Ho Chi Minh visited Halong Bay with Russian astronaut German Titov in 1962. The island has steep bank and white beach and is a suitable place for kayaking and parachute jumping. Titop Island includes a small but dreamy beach also called Titop. From above, this beach has crescent shape embracing the island.

Tuan Chau Island: This is one of the most glamorous islands in Halong Bay and also the only island has habitat. The island has the largest artificial coast in Vietnam. Since 2001, a large road was constructed connecting the island and the land, helping tourists easy to access. Sung Sot Cave: Located in the center of Halong Bay, there are two chambers in Sung Sot cave with a ceiling is about 30 meters high. The cave's area is approximate 10,000 m2 and the length is over 200 m. Inside the cave are many stalactites with extremely rich shapes.

Kayaking: If you do not experience kayaking when traveling Halong, it will be a big regret. While sitting in a small boat, you still can admire the natural sights of this charming bay. Halong Bay was listed as 1 of 25 Global Kayaking Points by American magazine National Geographic Adventure.
